Principal, Responsible Investment, Mercer
Mercer’s Responsible Investment team has been providing advice on ESG and sustainability (risks and opportunities) for many years, with a particular focus on climate change most recently; but how is that advice actually implemented when the CIO for Mercer’s European Funds is the client?
Jillian Reid will provide illustrative examples from recent implementation experiences, including developing a new sustainability portfolio from a blank canvas – outlining the questions posed and the basis for the decisions that were made.
Dr. Andreas G. F. Hoepner
ICMA Centre, Henley Business School
Against the massive outflows from active funds, Dr. Hoepner will present a theory of active investment management and market segment inefficiency relating to ESG factors. By classifying market segments by asset class, time horizon, information set and search algorithms he shows that ESG data can deliver efficient outperformance. He concludes by analysing the opportunities of deep ESG data as an Alpha driver.
President, Style Research North America
Bernie will present some new practical ways to understand and communicate ESG exposures in and across investment portfolios.
